Welcome!

This is the first Team Panoptes Game Jam! We (Team Panoptes) wanted to stretch our creative muscles as we are nearing the end of our first game's development cycle. And we figured that rather than keep to ourselves during a weekend of wanton creativity, why not invite other to take part? And so here we are!

The theme of the jam is "Unforeseen Consequences"

We hope this will help kickstart your ideas! Think of the theme not as a limitation, but as a tool to help you come up with new, unexpected ideas, and best of luck!

Are there other rules?

  • The jam is not ranked (there will be no formal voting at the end), the only goal is to make cool games, and share them! After the jam, we will organise a stream and play all the entries on it to showcase what was made during the weekend!
  • All technologies and platforms are accepted : Unity/Unreal/Godot games,
Ren'py visual novels, Twine games, homebrew GameBoy roms... All games are welcome! Try to provide either a web-based build, or builds for the main operating systems if possible!
  • You can participate solo or with a team.
  • You need to have permissions/licenses for all assets and code in the game!
  • The game should be created during the jam period.
  • The content of your game should be appropriate for most. If not, at the very least include content warnings on your page and at the start of the game, be considerate when choosing screenshots, and in doubt, reach out to us if you are not sure the game would be appropriate.

Where will people be able to hang out during the jam?

We have setup a game jam-specific channel in our Discord server : https://discord.gg/2deZuKu

You can also use Twitter, and use the #teampanoptesjam hashtag to interact!

We might also stream some time during the jam. We will announce that in Discord and Twitter, and will stream in Discord as well as at https://www.twitch.tv/teampanoptes .

Feel free to reach out on Discord or @panopticvr on Twitter if you have any question!
