A Tamagotchi is a small handheld toy created in 1996 that allowed children to pretend they're taking care of a pet. The little digital creature would be housed inside of an egg-shaped device with 3 buttons that can be used to interact with the world inside it.  Kids could feed it, play games with it, and even clean up after it.

If I'm not mistaken, the name "Tamagotchi" is a  combination of the Japanese word tamago (egg) and the English word watch.
*Your* creation does not have to be egg or watch related if you do not desire it to be.
The name of this game jam is solely to evoke the idea of a minimalist game about taking care of a pet. This jam is not related to Bandai's Tamagotchi, just inspired by it.

Guidelines:

For this game jam, create characters/creatures that can evolve/grow up.  Make a game where you can interact with them.

You can submit a full game, or just designs for a game if you didn't finish it.

Absolutely no AI allowed.
