FAQ
What do I need to submit?
Your final game must be an executable that can run on a Windows machine. Submissions that only run in-editor cannot be accepted. If your game can only be played on Mac, please let a TAGD officer know as soon as possible!
When/where will the final game presentations be?
The final game jam presentations will be held on Saturday, April 29th, at 4:00pm, and the meeting will be held in ARCB 101.
How will the games be judged?
The games will be judged by a panel of industry representatives, A&M professors, and/or experienced student mentors. The judges will play the games on the big screen, and you'll be able to see them and answer any questions they have. You may talk to the judges, but we do encourage you to let them do their thing.
What awards will be given?
The judges will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on a holistic review of the entire game. The games are judged by their adherence to the theme, as well as the quality of their design, art, and programming. Additionally, we'll vote for a crowd favorite during the meeting. On top of that, we'll be giving "best of" awards, for programming, art, design, sound, and use of theme. NOTE: Only content created by the team will be used for these awards! Furthermore, only individuals officially listed in TAGD documentation as being a member of the development team are eligible to receive awards.
My game requires a certain controller/device. Will the judges be able to play it?
The default control/platform will be Mouse and Keyboard on Windows. If your game has any other controller/platform requirements, please bring the necessary equipment with you to the final presentations and let an officer know which game it is meant for. If the equipment is very specialized (something like a VR headset), please tell an officer well in advance so we can set up the environment.
