Hello!

This is the first game jam I've hosted, so I hope it goes well. This is a five day jam, or 120 hour jam, running July 28th to August 1st, starting and ending at 6:30 PM. Voting ends August 2nd, at 1:00 PM. Note this is all in EST.

Now, a bit of an explanation on the theme, Strangers. The game will reflect the theme, but so will the team making it. I want you to get a team together completely digitally. Now, there's no real way to check this instead of the honor system, so I'll have to take your word for it. But if it is found out you aren't following this rule (or any listed below), you will be disqualified, no matter how good the game is. The games will have to run on PC, whether it be a download or a browser game. The engine doesn't matter.

Now for the rules. Get a team, of your preferred size, digitally. You cannot have known any members involved. You can find members in multiple ways, but the official one is on the Strangers Game Jam's official Discord. Just don't spoil your game on the Discord. How you work digitally is up to you. Don't steal from any existing properties. Get plenty of sleep. Try new things.

We'll be judging on innovation, theme, visuals, gameplay, and how the game is overall. Each is worth 20%. Anyone can vote, and I personally will vote on every game that I can play (Windows and browser games). But Mac and Linux games are welcome, and can still be voted on by anyone.

Strangers Game Jam Discord (to find strangers to work on games with you): https://discord.gg/8yqTsCd. You don't have to use the Discord, but it's welcomed. You can also find strangers at the Reddit post, found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/6q12uh/strangers_game_jam_on_itchio/

That's it. Go ahead and make a game with a bunch of strangers! Not as weird as it sounds.
