🎃 STL Spooky Jam 2025 🎃

STLGameDev is hosting another game jam for the St. Louis MO area game dev community!

Participants may work independently or in teams. All projects must be created within the two-week jam window, following the official theme announced on Thursday, October 16th, 2025 at 6:00 PM CST

📅 Timeline

• Theme Reveal: Thursday, October 16 @ 6:00 PM CST
  We will kick-off the Jam with a short presentation on our Discord Channel

• Jam Duration: October 16 → October 30

• Game Submissions are due by 4:00 PM CST on October 30th!

• Showcase: Thursday, October 30 @ 6:30 PM CST → 8:30 PM CST 
  at Maryville University - Design & Visual Art building - Room 103/104— present your finished game, play others, and celebrate with the community. Costumes encouraged! Parking is free in the lot next door.

🏫 In-Person Work Sessions

We are also hosting Work Sessions at local St. Louis County Library branches. These are opportunities to collaborate, receive feedback, or simply work alongside fellow participants:

• Sat, Oct 18 | 1–5 PM — Grand Glaize branch

• Sat, Oct 25 | 1–5 PM — Meramec Valley branch

• Sun, Oct 26 | 1–5 PM — Grant’s View branch

• Wed, Oct 29 | 5–8 PM — Grand Glaize branch

Attendance is free for all game jam participants.

Note: Teams are self-organized. STLGameDev organizers will notassign teams on your behalf.

🎮 Rules & Guidelines

Most rules operate on the honor system. Please respect the spirit of the jam:

1. Begin work only after the theme is announced.

2. Incorporate the theme (at least loosely).

3. Games must be submitted by the deadline or they will not be presented at the showcase.

4. You are welcome to make changes to your game post-jam to fix small bugs, crashes, etc. You are also welcome (and encouraged) to continue working on your game after the jam - but please leave the version submitted for the jam as-is for posterity!
   

🚫 Strict Rules

• Respect everyone. Neither your behavior nor your game’s content should target, demean, or harm any person or group.

• Keep it appropriate. Aim for content no more mature than PG-13: no nudity, sexual content, extreme gore, excessive violence, or repeated strong language.

• Adhere to the STLGameDev Community Guidelines.
  

Violations may result in removal of your submission or, in severe cases, a ban from future STLGameDev events.

🧛 Costumes

Costumes are welcome at the showcase, provided they follow the same community guidelines.
