The theme for the jam is "Think before you move".
Think through before you do any movement or action. So maybe it’s a horror game where you open doors using puzzles in order to run from a hunter. Maybe it’s a fast paced shooter where it slows down time every kill, allowing you to think what actions to do next. Or it’s a dungeon crawler where you foresee the future and the enemies in the rooms.
That being said - you can interpret this theme however you like. What will you come up with before you make a move? Get creative, think outside the box, and surprise us!

- All games entered in the contest are automatically considered for a sponsoring deal with CATMOB!! 
- Winning does not guarantee a publishing deal but it does earn you first consideration.
- Top 3 winners will receive a special discord role in the UpSkill Discord server.
Winners will be voted and chosen by UpSkill's designated judges.
They'll be focusing on rating the games based on these categories:
Creative: How you managed to creatively target the theme.
Gameplay: How did the game flow, did it have tight controls, what was your experience while playing.
Aesthetics: How well does the game utilize its visual style and how appealing is it.
Game Requirements
- Create a game based on the theme
- You must include some sort of free-cam or spectate mode
- You are not allowed to use free models.
- Modifications of pre-existing games are not allowed.

- You can work as a solo developer or in a team of up to 3. Don't have a team? Come join our Discord!
Submission Requirements
- The game project must be started and fully completed within the Game Jam's designated period: [Sunday December 3rd - Sunday December 17th]
- Submit your game through itch.io.
- Write from which roblox community you're submitting from.

Q: Do I have to have experience to join the game jam?
Not at all! We welcome all skill levels. Come in, have fun, gain experience and learn!
Q: We’re not allowed to use free models. Does this include sounds and skies?
No! We usually refer to the free models as borrowed scripts, 3D models, and UI from ROBLOX’s toolbox. Sounds and skies wouldn’t be a problem.
Q: Do we only need it to run on PC or also mobile?
PC only. Mobile can be a later implementation if considered for CATMOB's sponsoring deal.
Q: If I win. Will the prize money be split between the team members?
The winning team will decide weather on splitting the money between the members, or using it as a team fund.
Q: What does it mean the game has to have a free-cam or a spectate mode?
If the game you're making allows you to do so, you're required to have a free-cam mode in order to obtain game clips & footage. Games locked to an axis can be exempted to the free-cam requirement. Therefore, 2D cameras such as: Top down, side scrolls, etc.
Q: If someone is just giving ideas for a team does that make them a team member?
No, they're not considered a team member as long as they're not actively participating in game development.
Q: Are bug testers considered team members?
Yes. Testers are actively participating in the game development process.
Q: Where do I list all my team members?
You will be able to list all of your team member's usernames upon submission. You may also credit them within your game's description.
Q: How do I submit my game?
Click the submission button, you will directed into creating a new project. Create it, name it, and continue filling out all the details.
Don't forget to make your project public!
