Welcome to the very first Skillsmith Educational Game Jam — where learning meets fun! Your challenge? Create a browser-playable educational game that teaches one or more real-world skills.
Event | Date |
---|---|
Jam Starts | Saturday, July 19 @ 6PM CST |
Jam Ends | Monday, July 28 @ 11:59PM CST |
Voting Period | July 29 โ August 2 |
Winners Announced | August 3 |
The core learning theme is:
BASIC MATH
Your game should feature an educational component that allows the player to learn & practice basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and/or division). You may choose to just focus on one specific math skill or as many as all four!
Remember, though these skills are often learned at a young age, many kids are exposed to relatively mature games (Epic Games' Fortnite for example), so, while they certainly do not need to be violent in nature, these games should still be fun and engaging.
Competing for attention is the education industry's biggest challenge as entertainment has evolved so rapidly, while learning resources have remained relatively stagnant. Our goal is to create games that are fun, that also teach a valuable skill.
