Learn how to design your own videogame in just one week, through practical weekly challenges delivered by some of the UK’s biggest studios. Side Quest is a totally free learning community, dedicated to showing you how to build your very own game. Get started by visiting the Side Quest website here!
Every two weeks a new quest will be set by a major game studio that tasks you with designing a game in just one week. Daily industry expert livestreams will guide you through the process of developing your game, and our free Side Quest resources will give you all the tools you need to build it. Submit your game at the end of the week to see it shared and played around the world.

The folks over at Mediatonic have also agreed to give the three lucky winners some rare Mediatonic merch from on of their recent titles - and Into Games will be giving over £100 in Unity Asset Store Credit to the winning teams - yay!
This weeks quest is: One Room
Staying home and staying safe means we spend a lot of time in the same spaces, but if we could change those spaces to delights, surprise, challenge or inspire us - how would we do it? Is your room more expansive than you first thought? Does a little searching reveal secret doors and hidden messages? Have you shrunk to a microscopic size and now have to make a bold trek across Mount Sofa? Is your room a secret-base, receiving and decoding cryptic messages from the outside? Or is the floor now lava? We want to see how amazingly creative you can be in just one room.

Monday 15th June / 3pm - ‘Min Max your Pitch’ w/ Tork Shaw, Anna Hollinrake (Principal Creative, Principal Arist at Mediatonic) - How to turn an idea into a pitch document that outlines your vision for the team, and then into a pitch presentation deck, to get the world on board with your game.
Wednesday 17th June / 3pm ‘Game Jams as Fast-Tracked Videogame Pre-Production’ w/ Vicki Thompson (Game Designer at Mediatonic) - See how a jam is similar to the Pre-Production phase of your typical video game development cycle, some tips on how to survive your jam, and some thoughts on taking lessons from your jam forward into your career.
Thursday 18th June / 3pm - ‘So You've Made a Game, Now What?’ w/ Haley Uyrus & Oliver Hindle (Head of Brand Communications & Senior Community Manager at Mediatonic) - Find out about the different facets of games marketing - from designing a good game title, to scripting fun trailers, and forming communities around your games.
Friday 19th June / 3pm - ‘Cozy Concept Artist Q&A’ w/ Daniel Hoang, Ash Kerins, Oliver Hindle (Principal Concept Artist, Principal Concept Artist, Senior Community Manager at Mediatonic) - A casual chat about the career of a Concept Artist. Two of Mediatonic's Principal Concept Artists Dan and Ash will partake in some live on-stream concepting while fielding all your questions about art in game dev, with Senior Community Manager Oliver as our host
