This is the Third Annual GOATSNAX Secret Santa Game Jam! The details are all posted in the Discord server so make sure you join the server when you register for the jam, otherwise you won't be able to see your prompt!
You will be provided with (and providing yourself) a short prompt and be given 2 weeks to make a game based on that prompt. On December 25th the games will all be made visible and you will be able to see what game was made for you!
Anything you'd like, really. There are plenty of pieces of free or paid software to use for digital game development. Unity, Game Maker Studio 2, Unreal Engine, Construct 2, and RPG maker just to name a few. You could even make a physical game if you'd rather (Tabletop game, Role-playing game, Sport, etc).
YES!!! The GOATSNAX jam is targeted at brand new game makers, so there will be tons of people like you, plus some veteran jammers who are happy to help out! Everyone in the Discord is divided into teams, so there will be some people who can help you without spoiling the surprise for your recipient.
The games should have around 30 second to 5 minutes of gameplay, just to make sure everyone gets a good chunk of game to play on Christmas. There's no pressure to create a masterpiece, just to try something new and make something fun!
This year the prompts will be: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral.
You will be writing three words, one for each category, such as "Aardvark, Spinach, Unobtanium"
You type your prompts into the #personal-prompts channel of the Discord by the end of December 9th.
You can submit your prompts in the Discord right now! We will be sending everyone their Secret Santa on the December 9th at midnight and you can get started as soon as you get it. Submissions will be open from December 10th until the end of Christmas Eve.

Once you've join the admins will give you the roles you need, and you can select some custom roles to identify yourself.
