Frameworks and Assets

Participants are allowed to use any game engine or framework. Participants can also use assets not made by them, but they need to provide the proper license to use them and credit them in the submission description.

Projects should be targeted for Windows or Web

Theme

The game should be developed based on a specific theme (Lost Pages), which will be announced at the beginning of the event.

Originality

All games developed for the game jam should be original, and not previously published or developed.

Code of Conduct

Participants should abide by a code of conduct, which should include respect for others, no cheating, and no discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation. This code also applies to the content of your games.


Rating Criteria

The games will be rated in the following categories: Game Design, Fun, Innovation, Theme, Graphics, Audio,  Originality, Story. Total of 112 points.

  • Game Design (12 p): This criterion evaluates how well the game mechanics and systems are designed, and how they contribute to the overall gameplay experience. Game design includes elements such as game balance, pacing, level design, player progression, and the overall flow of the game.
  • Fun (12 p): This criterion evaluates how engaging and enjoyable the game is to play. Fun includes elements such as player feedback, pacing, replayability, and the overall level of challenge.
  • Innovation (12 p): This criterion evaluates how innovative and creative the game is in terms of its gameplay mechanics, story, and overall design. Innovation includes elements such as unique gameplay features, original ideas, and creative use of existing technologies.
  • Theme (20 p): This criterion evaluates how well the game adheres to the given theme of the game jam. Theme includes elements such as how well the game incorporates the theme into its mechanics, story, and overall design.
  • Graphics (12 p): This criterion evaluates the quality and effectiveness of the game's graphics and visual design. Graphics include elements such as art style, visual fidelity, and overall aesthetic appeal.
  • Audio (12 p): This criterion evaluates the quality and effectiveness of the game's audio and sound design. Audio includes elements such as music, sound effects, voice acting, and overall audio production quality.
  • Originality (20 p): This criterion focuses on the team's ability to create original content, from art and sound design to gameplay mechanics and story.
  • Story (12 p): Plot. This criterion evaluates the quality and engagement of the game's narrative or storyline. The Plot rating criteria assesses the strength of the narrative and storytelling in a game, considering factors such as originality, coherence, character development, conflict, pacing, emotional impact, and resolution.

Each of these criteria will be evaluated by judges who will assign scores to each category. By evaluating games based on these criteria, judges can ensure that the winners of the game jam have created games that are well-designed, engaging, and innovative while adhering to the given theme.
