Theme

The theme of Scratch Game Jam #1 is The Sound of Play.

Sound effects are one of the most important parts of a game. Good sound effects make the players feel like they are there. We hope this will be a Game Jam Celebrating Audio in Games.

To help you get a quick boost in sound effects, we recommend using the Media Utils extension in the Gandi IDE, which provides a simple audio engine with lazy-load features built in. Here is a tutorial on how to use this extension.

In addition, the assets market in Gandi IDE also provides a wealth of sound effects. Please feel free to use them and here is the tutorial.

Rules

Any kind of game is okay! But always remember that it needs to fit the theme.

This is an exclusive engine jam. Only submissions created using the Scratch or Scratch mod such as Gandi IDE or TurboWarp will be allowed.

You must upload as HTML5. Submissions not including this will be removed.Gandi IDE can help you and Here is a step-by-step guide for you.

The latest submission date is February 20 at 0 UTC. You can submit your project starting February 10 at 0 UTC, and it is recommended to post it earlier so that community members can give feedback and help you iterate on it better.

Teams are okay! You can create solo or in a team. Gandi IDE's collaboration feature can help your team.

Voting

We will invite all participants to vote with Gandi IDE Team and community contributors.

Games will be rated on these criteria:

★ Enjoyment: How did you like the game?

★ Design: Includes a lot of things, like balance, level design, gameplay experience, creativity, etc.

★ Presentation: Was the game delivered in a good way? How was the consistent aesthetic?

★ Theme: Does this game belong in this jam? How it shows The Sound of Play?

Rewards

Each entry will make the host add 1000 NG to the Creators' Treasure Pool. The Creators' Treasure Pool will be distributed according to rank. Each tier will share the rewards equally.

1st - 50% of the Treasure Pool

Top 20%（except 1st）- 25% of the Treasure Pool

Top 20%~50% - 15% of the Treasure Pool

Top 50%~ - 10% of the Treasure Pool

Join the Discord server for any notifications about the jam and to meet other participants and hype yourself up before the event! After the jam starts you can also share your progress in the game jam channel.
