The goal of this jam is to create an original work of prose (novel, novella, novelette, or short story), a comic, a visual novel, or a TTRPG that fits the science fantasy genre. All subgenres are welcome!
This jam is for original content only, no fan work. Stock and free-to-use assets are accepted. Absolutely NO generative AI is allowed.
What is science fantasy?
Like the blurb at the top says, it's a blend of science fiction and fantasy! This is a broad category that encompasses many kinds of stories of varying degrees of either genre.
A work of sci-fantasy must contain at least one element that would be widely considered science fiction, and one element that would widely be considered fantasy in tandem with each other. Modern day technology and science with fantasy elements counts, as does the reverse (fantasy seeming world with out-of-place scientific elements.)

How do I know if my story is science fantasy?
Does it have one fantasy element and one scientific or science fiction element? Then it's science fantasy! We're not going to be strict and police people's definition of it. If you feel like your work fits this genre blend, it probably does! If you're still not sure, you're always free to ask if others think it is.

Are public domain works okay to pull from?
Yes! You may utilize any public domain works for your story, as public domain work is, by nature, free to use. Some examples would be fairy tales or religious mythology.
Can I submit erotica?
Yes, mature and explicit works are permitted in this jam.
Does my work have to be mature?
No, but it should be meant for adults. It doesn't need to contain explicit material, but since explicit material is allowed in this jam, your work should not be geared towards teens and/or children.
Can my work be queer-centric or contain queer characters?
Absolutely! Please, by all means, include queerness of any kind that you'd like!
Are furries or anthros allowed?
Yes! Furries and anthro characters are allowed.
Is there a winner of the jam?
Nope! This jam has no winners, it's all about the love of the game. Create for the joy of creation!
Can I submit WIPs to the jam?
Yes! WIPs, demos, samples, and preorders are allowed.
Can I submit multiple projects?
Absolutely! Please, feel free to.
Can I charge money for my jam project(s)?
Yes! Charge whatever you'd like for it. It's your work!
Can I start working on my project before the jam starts?
Yes, but I encourage you to try and do some of the work during the jam itself, to honor the spirit of the jam.
Can I use generative AI in my work?
NO. As stated at the top, generative AI is NOT allowed.
