First Jammer Tips!

  1. Scope Small. Even if it’s not your first game, you will run into unforeseen obstacles. A common rule of thumb in game development is take how long you think it will take, then triple it. Making a game is a loooot of work.
  2. Get a small, playable game first. Create a player and a single fun level before starting many other levels or making a save system. You can then refine and scope larger without deadline fear. A small, polished experience is always better than a lot of nothingburger.
  3. Make a 2d game - 3D Games are CPU-intensive for both you developers and for players. They also are generally more difficult to make.
