Welcome to the First Semi-Annual Royals Week in Review Game Jam! This is a relatively straight-forward competition: make a game, solo or with friends, in 60 hours or less based off a theme announced in-person. THE THEME WILL NOT BE POSTED HERE UNTIL VOTING BEGINS! THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET THE THEME IS TO BE THERE.

After the theme is announced at 12:20, I will help you set up your engine of choice on your school laptop. If you're not sure what you want to use, here is an interactive quiz to help you decide. It contains a lot of beginner-friendly tools. Also, Extra Credits' series on making your first game and this video by Quill18 are both full of useful advice.

Submissions must follow some guidelines:

• It must be school appropriate; this means no drugs/alcohol, intense violence, or sexual content.
• It should follow the theme; this will be one of the categories that games are ranked in.
• Keep the deadline in mind! Don't try to make a massive open-world RPG with several dungeons; instead, make something short and simple.
• If your engine provides the option, please provide a build for Mac and Linux, or make it a browser game.
