Character Creator Contest

Create your own unique character according to a theme, you are free to use existing or modified resources such as character generators or edit an already existing character you have made before to fit the theme as long as your character is yours. If you cant draw thats ok I will provide some basic templates you can trace over or you could focus more on a write-up or any other area of character development, this could be an interesting backstory, some rare traits and stats, a unique skill, a strange sidekick or pet, some unusual flaw e.t.c. Your character is yours and yours alone, we respect your intellectual property and wish that you also refrain from plagiarism and outright copy and paste content.

Voting Criteria

1. Character: How well is the character portrayed? Do they feel like a real person or not?

2. Design: How well do the various attributes of the character come together? Are they consistent or feel unrelated/unnecessary?

3. Creativity: How well did the creator bring together his/her idea? Did you find the character unique or generic?

4. Appeal: Overall do you like this character or not? (Regardless of your own personal bias)

Visual Representation of your character:

This should be a character design sheet with at least 2 portraits of common character emotion, one front and back (optional side and 3/4 to replace front or back) full body rendering of your character (rendering means in full concept, colour is required for at least one full body drawing) with at least one main prop /special item/ weapon/ character chibi or pet (monster?) drawn to the side. You can include as many variations as possible, but you must have at least 2 variations of the character in either portraits, props or full body variations that can be different outfits, different hair, different colour schemes.

Character Development Writers Guide

Write-Up Representation of your character:

This should be a detailed write up for your character, you can check out some templates and guides on how to write a character development sheet. Overall, it must include: the name or nickname of your character, their attractive quality or positive trait, their flaw and room for growth, their core desire and their biggest fear as well as a short backstory. You are free to format this any way you want e.g as questionnaire interview, as a list of descriptions, as a spreadsheet table, as a visual chart with described keys and diagrams (e.g an astrology natal chart) <- as long as you explain it to, that's up to you.

Side Notes and Rules

Any style is allowed, 3d model, anime manga, caricature, cute or realistic it's up to you. Note this is for concept art and writing so there is no need to create sprites or 3d models of a finished character sheet, but you can include those in your design if you are capable.

1. You will need to submit one of or both of a visual and write-up character sheet, all submissions belong to their creators and plagiarism is forbidden.

2. Please refrain from submitting pornographic content or full nudity but you are allowed to sexualize your character or be suggestive.

3. Do not post hateful, offensive, racist, sexist or humiliating characters intended to defame or ridicule any ethnic, sexual or gender group.

4. You are free to collaborate with an artist or writer and submit as a team or as an individual and submit at least one write up or visual charcter sheet.

5. If you have time you are allowed to submit more than one character sheets but this is not necessary nor required.
