This jam is now over. It ran from 2024-06-16 04:00:00 to 2024-07-03 04:00:00.

Welcome to the Rough and Tumble Jam

We are extremely excited to host the very first game jam for the NYU Game Devs discord server community! This will be an unranked, no-pressure jam, open to experienced game devs and beginners alike. The goal is just to show the world what you're made of!

The Rules

Seeing as this is a small community, the rules for the jam won't be extensive but there are a few to keep in mind.

Teams of Up To 4 Allowed

In the spirit of keeping things sportsmanlike within this small community, team sizes will be limited to prevent developers from bringing in the manpower of a AAA team.

Non-NYU Students Allowed But You Must Have 1 NYU Student Per Team

We recognize that you may have Non-NYU game developer friends that you want to help you and that's okay! The more the merrier. But since this is a jam intended for the NYU Game Devs community we ask that you please have one NYU student per team and that you give the admins a heads-up.

Games Cannot Be Started Before The Jam Period

Submissions for the game jam should be original and created within the time-frame of the game jam. That's the point of a game jam after all!

No AI-Generated Content

In regards to the art, music, and other creative endeavors, AI-Generated Content is strictly forbidden. However, you are allowed online assets such as those found right here on itch.io.
Additionally, our server offers the @2d artist, @3d artist, @musician, @designer, and @writer roles that you can ping to look for help during the jam.  This is a great opportunity to network with your fellow devs!

If there are any questions about what is and isn't allowed in the jam that isn't clarified here feel free to ping the admins!

The Theme

Luck of the Draw

This is an optional theme! Your submission does not have to follow it, it's just a fun thing to get the brainstorming going.
