the goal of this jam is to make a game that revitalizes an old game with newer mechanics. Maybe chess would be interesting as a point buy real-time strategy game.  Maybe that old arcade game you played as a kid was unfairly designed (to get more coins of course) and could do with a better difficulty ramp. 

This game jam is just for fun and to challenge yourself, but we do have voting in place! it's set to submitters only and is in place to help with peer critique. the four voting categories are as followed: Game Play, Visuals, Audio, & Enjoyment

Game Play: how well the mechanics and feedback feel within play.
Visuals: yes subjective, but good design is important.
Audio: How well the audio & sound effects feel within the project.
Enjoyment: the OOMPH of your game. a good example of how to implement this is described in this video.

1) Potentially unsafe or offensive content must be labeled as such, offensive language, nudity, gore, etc. We want the games to be playable by everyone. No offensive/discriminatory content allowed.

2) Making everything from scratch is not mandatory, but please give credit where credit is due for used assets! We wish for submissions to be made within the time period but will accept games made prior to the jam, after all it's for fun and peer review.

3) Teaming up is allowed, and encouraged! down below we have a discord link for discussions and planning.
