Rules for Participation
- Act Appropriately: You must abide by Florida Polytechnic University’s student code of conduct to ensure appropriate event behavior.
- Don't Plagiarize: The uncredited use of source code, art assets, music, and other related game assets is unacceptable and is grounds for disqualification. When submitting your project you must document which assets used were not created by you or your team, if any.
- Purchased Asset Usage: Purchased asset packs, add-ons, and other engine asset store purchases can be used but are discouraged as you should attempt to create your own assets. As noted by rule 2, you must document any purchased assets utilized.
- The use of a previous game project is prohibited: You should be creating a brand new project for the game jam rather than building on top of an already existing project. You are allowed to use a minor amount of assets from previous project such as small code snippets, but these assets should be documented.
- To clarify, if you have a game idea prior to the game jam that you never built upon, you are allowed to utilize that design.
- Team sizes cannot exceed 5 people.
- This is only a maximum team size, feel free to work in a team smaller than this.
- Wear Event Badges: When within the IST during the event, wear the badge that was given to you at the start of the event. These badges will allow us to recognize those who belong to the event (for security measures) and those who are getting food and promotional items.
- If you lose your badge or need one for a team member talk to an event staff member.
- Please bring up all food allergies and/or health concerns: Failure to do so cannot guarantee safe food and accommodation for health concerns. This relieves the event planner, the Media Club and Florida Polytechnic University of any liability and civil law suits.
Any concerns about event safety and dishonesty should be reported to Media Club E-Board members immediately. Failure to adhere to these rules can result in disqualification from the event.
