Welcome all developers, artists, and designers to our Remix Jam, a 4‑day game jam hosted by Bezi to recreate a classic game loop (or part of one) with your own twist! From Mario Kart to Pac-man to Hollow Knight, we're here to celebrate the timeless highlights - while putting a modern, unique take on it.
Your game must be a mechanical or gameplay recreation of a recognizable classic but past that, sky's the limit! You can go retro with Tetris or Donkey Kong, or remix a modern day classic like Among Us. We just ask that it must incorporate a distinct gameplay feature or loop that makes it more challenging, addicting, or silly.
The theme is NES CONTROLLER! Your game can only use 6 inputs total - Arrow Keys/WASD + 2 additional buttons of your choice (think an NES controller). No mouse controls allowed! Map all 6 inputs however you want. Total limit: 6 inputs, keyboard only.
Bezi is a development assistant for Unity designed to help with the repetitive and boilerplate parts of building a game by real-time indexing your assets, scenes, packages, and more, not just your code. It uses memory and context to help with coding and script writing, debugging and optimization, building Editor tools, and more. You can download and use Bezi here.
Join the the Bezi Discord to find teammates, share progress, get feedback, and more! All conversations about the jam will happen in #jam-chat. If you have any questions, issues, or feedback on Bezi, please share them in the #bezi-support and #bezi-feedback channels.
The winners will all receive cash prizes and a month of Bezi for free. There will be 2 categories of winners, each with a Top 3: Community Favorites and Judges' Choice.
The Top 3 winners in each category will receive the following prizes:
Participants who submit a short devlog on how they used Bezi as part of their game jam submission will receive $10. The optional devlog form will be a part of the game submission process.
We will be using a rating system to determine the Community Favorites. Only submitters will be able to vote and rate, and will be subject to a rating queue of 5. This means that you will have to rate 5 random submissions before rating other submissions to keep the voting fair. You will be voting the games based on the following criteria:
The Judges' Choice winners will be determined by members of the Bezi Team.
