You'd need to pull a shit ton of tricks to make any kind of story events feel significant with just squares as your characters

then we started talking about the tricks, and now i have been elected as the jam host. wonderful!

rules

1. your game graphics may only consist of rectangles and squares
2. no audio, not even ambience
3. no text, all information must be conveyed using rectangles
4. you must make an honest attempt at creating a game
5. visual effects are allowed, as long as, you guessed it, theyre rectangles
6. using squares for raster art may get you disqualified
7. tiled squares for a tilemap are allowed
8. dont make me add more rules
