Work alone or with a team of up to 5 members total to make the best VR game in any engine you want based on the given theme within 1 week!

It is up to you to interpret the theme. You will not be disqualified from the jam if your game doesn't adequately fit the theme, but one of the judging categories is "Adherence to the Theme".

The following is a list of things you will need to submit to be eligible for the above prizes:
It is recommended that you add a 30-60 second video and at least 3 screen shots to your game's submission itch page before the game Jam is over. Doing so will factor into your Game Page Professionalism score (see below) and allow players to get a better idea of what your game is.

Prizes will be determined based off the following rubric:
| Category | Description | Score (1 - 5) |
| Fun Factor | How enjoyable is the game? Does it engage players and provide an entertaining experience? Are the mechanics and challenges fun to interact with? Do I want to play this game again? | 1 - 5 |
| Technical Difficulty | Does the game run smoothly? * Are the game mechanics, visuals, and/or audio impressive from a technical standpoint? Does it make us ask: "How did they do this?" in a positive way? | 1 - 5 |
| Adherence to the Theme | Does the game clearly reflect the theme of this jam? Are the mechanics, narrative, audio, and/or visuals tied to the theme in a meaningful way? Is this a clever use of the theme? | 1 - 5 |
| Audio | How well does the audio complement the game play? Is the sound design immersive? Are the sound effects, voice acting, and/or music appropriately integrated and of high quality? | 1 - 5 |
| Visual | How visually appealing is the game? Are the graphics well-designed, creative, and clear? Do they enhance the gaming experience and enhance the mechanics? | 1 - 5 |
| Game Page Professionalism | How professional does the game's itch page look and function? Does it include screen shots, a game play trailer, game description, and accurately and appropriately list all pre-existing code, art, and audio assets? | 1 - 5 |
Every single submission will be judged by us, Plus 2 Studios, and given written feedback in the format of this rubric. Our goal is to give feedback to all submissions and to announce the winners 2 weeks after the game jam ends (1 week after community voting ends). This deadline is dependent on total number of submissions.
One of the reasons our rubric includes Game Page Professionalism is to encourage you to think about how you can market your game. In our experience, marketing a game and finding an audience is one of the harder parts of game development. It is therefore our hope that by adding a category that specifically looks at how you market your game, we can provide you feedback in a category that is typically hard to get feedback on.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be determined by 80% of their overall score from us based upon the above rubric AND 20% of their overall score from the community.
The Top Community Picked Game will be determined by 100% of their overall score from the community.
If the Top Community Picked Game also places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the main rankings, it will receive the higher of the two prizes. The displaced prize will then be passed down to the next highest-ranked game that hasn’t already won a prize, continuing down the list until all prizes have been awarded. For example: If the 2nd place winner is also the Top Community Picked Game, they will receive the higher prize of $150 (the 2nd place prize). The $100 Top Community Picked Game prize will then go to the 3rd place winner, and the $100 3rd place prize will be passed to the 4th place game. The 4th place prize of $50 will then be passed to the 5th place game. If there are any ties then we will use our own discretion to break the tie, emphasizing the Fun Factor category.

*The hardware we will be testing on for PCVR is a Windows 10 system with an r9 5900x cpu, 64GB of ram and a rtx 3090. For standalone VR games we will be using the Quest 3.
**If you win, to receive a prize, you must live in a country that the United State allows us to send money to. If you cannot receive the prize money for any reason, then the prize money will trickle down to further placements until it is gone or there is no one left to receive it. For example, if 1st place cannot receive the $300, then 2nd place will, and then the 2nd place prize will go to 3rd place and the 3rd place prize will go to 4th place, and the 4th place prize will go to 5th place.
***If you are under 18 years of age or not legally considered an adult in your country of residence, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to participate in this game jam due to the prize offerings.
****If you do not credit or mention all work done prior to the game jam, including any asset packs or code and it is discovered, then you will not be eligible to win any of the prizes and your game may be removed from this jam.
Friendly Reminders:
The itch upload limit is 1GB. You can compress your game as a ZIP, RAR, or 7Zip file (ZIP is preferred). You can also upload larger files via Butler if you really need to.
We, Plus 2 Studios, use Unreal Engine 5 for VR development. You are more than welcome to use any engine you like, but if you need help with anything during the jam, we will most likely not be able to help you unless you are also using Unreal Engine (but we can still try!).

Tools and Assets:
Here are some places where you can find art, fonts, music, and sound effects for your games. Many of these assets are eligible for use in the jam, but it is always wise to check the license before using and to provide credit in your game's description! (Thank you to GMTK for gathering most of this list of links!)
Misc. Info:
We, Plus 2 Studios, will also be participating in this jam and our submission can be ranked by you, the community. HOWEVER, our submission IS NOT allowed to win any prize categories, including Top Community Picked Game. We just want to have fun too!
Why Are We Doing This Jam?
The answer is simple - we love VR games and want the VR community to continue to grow and prosper. Over the years of learning VR development in our spare time (Plus 2 Studios is not our full time job unfortunately), we have learned a majority of our knowledge through community forums, discord servers, blood, sweat, and tears (oh, and a good amount of VR sickness too!). We believe the best way we can pass along our knowledge and passion for VR is to host a game jam and provide as much feedback and help as we can to those who participate!
