Description:
RDF is a standard model for data interchange on the Web. RDF data uses a directed graph-based structure where a subject (node) relates with a predicate (edge) to an object (node). RDF datasets can be retrieved using SPARQL.
This game jam focuses on creating interactive stories with the RDF Training and Demonstration Framework (RDeF). RDeF is a Python framework for creating interactive stories based on RDF triples. In stories, players build their own knowledge base from RDF triples hidden in scenes and uncover new findings by querying this knowledge base with SPARQL requests. The objective of this framework is to provide students who are interested in Linked Data a prosumer platform to train their RDF and SPARQL skills.
Prizes:
The best five submissions are rewarded with a digital 60€ gift card for the official shop of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen Nürnberg (RDeF is a university project after all). The FAU hoodie costs 50€ and the shop ships international.
Requirements:
Participants must be capable of writing RDF data in Turtle syntax and SPARQL queries. An executable of RDeF is available for Windows users and stories are only generated from RDF data and images. Thus, no Python programming experience is required to attend.
Discord:
Join the Discord server for help and more information. We will have a first talk and introduce RDeF in Discord at 11:30 CEST.
