Welcome to the official Rave Games Jam for 2023! This challenge will see First Year Game Development Students creating their first game jam for 4 days!

Your theme is Halloween and Endangered, how you interpret this is down to your own imagination! Your game must be themed around these two key words.

Wildcards are an optional limitation to add a unique challenge in addition to the theme. Pick one, none or all; it’s up to you! Ignoring wildcards completely will not incur a deduction in judging.

1. You must be using Unity 2021.3.22

2. Reusing existing code and assets is allowed to an extent.

> No re-skinning of games made outside of the jam. -

> A majority of the code and/or assets must be made in the jam's time frame.

> No AI generated work.

3. We will not tolerate racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination when it comes to participation in the jam or submissions made.

4. No new content may be uploaded after the submission deadline (no music, no polish, no tweaks).

5. Follow the theme.

6. Can be done either solo or in a group no bigger than 3

7. Have fun

When is the Jam?

The game jam will start on Tuesday October 31st. The Jam will end on November 3rd.

Do I have to do everything myself?

Not at all! If you want to use public domain art/sounds or the like, that's entirely fine. And we encourage jammers to team up, too!

Can I use stuff I've already made?

To an extent. The spirit of the jam is that you make something new, not rejig an existing game to fit the criteria.

Can I update the game during the voting period?

No.

Ravensbourne Game Lecturers will be judging the work uploaded, we will be looking at the following:

Theme:

How well does the game adhere to the chosen theme?

Fun:

Was it fun? Enjoyable?

Controls:

How smooth is the game? Are the controls clunky or intuitive?

Graphics:

Does the game look good? Does the art style fit the type of game?

Originality:

Were you pleasantly surprised by some game mechanic or design in the game?
