Welcome to the Radical Game Jam!

This game jam event starts the first weekend of every month. If you enjoy creating games or want to start learning, then this is an awesome place to start creating some radical games!

Themes

Each game jam has 5 new themes to use in your games that also double as the voting criteria. Our community members suggest these themes and vote on them on our Radical Goats Discord server.

Current Themes:

1. Break the loop: ???

2. Do a flip: Something can do a 360 flip that the player has control over.

3. Cheese: Respawn after eating cheese.

4. Full Ape:  The game is full of apes. (Visuals)

5. Laugh: Use the sound of laughter in your game. (Audio)

There is always 1 theme to use in the audio (music, sound effects) and 1 theme to use in the visuals (how the game looks). The other 3 themes can be used in the game mechanics or for general things, and can also be used for audio and visuals.

Rules

1. Only games created using the Godot Engine will be allowed.

2. Reusing existing code and assets is allowed as long as you're not just reskinning a game.

3. We will not tolerate racism, sexism, or any other form of hate speech in the game jam and in submitted games.

1. When does this jam usually start?

The first weekend of every month

2. Am I alone here?

Nope! Join our discord to chat with our community and find teammates.

3. Can I update my game build during the voting period?

If there is a severe bug or crash contact the Discord mods and they might make an exception.

4. How are the themes chosen?

Phase 1: Discord members submit ideas on the Theme Vote channel. The channel will be unlocked for 3-4 days.

Phase 2: The organizers discuss the suggested themes, using the community votes to gauge interest, and then choose the themes.
