We welcome you to the first R42-macromedia-alpha-8h-GameJam (hard name) or in short: our Christmas GameJam!

At this event you have 8 hours to create a game prototype on the theme below. At the end of the 8h there will be a Meet & Play aftershowparty, nice!

Within a limited scope, preparations were allowed to be made, such as setting up the project in Unity. For working during GameJam, the following statement counts: "Everything that is your intellectual property and consists of your projects may be used if needed." The only exception that applies here is the sound rule: If one of the teams does not have a sound designer, sounds from external sources may be used if a credit is given. This rule only applies to non-auditive games. Furthermore the general GameJam stuff counts, like "all assets have to be created during the 8h".

We thank our cooperation partners in the form of Macromedia University of Applied Sciences and Mittweida University of Applied Sciences for providing a location for the students for the Game Jam. We also thank Jambit for sponsoring the catering and Ur-Krostitzer for providing drinks!

The Christmas Game Jam serves as a prototype for upcoming monthly Game Jams at R42 Leipzig. We deliberately chose a short time span of 8 hours to force the participants to create a prototype under stress to test the fun of the game idea. In the future we are looking forward to many more Game Jams at R42 in cooperation with our partners.
