Welcome to the Quintuple Jam !
This Game Jam is all about creating a simple game which focuses on a simple mechanic and polishing it as much as possible within 5 hours ! Because of its simplicity and inherent depth, this Jam is a great fit for beginner developers as well as advanced ones, so don't be shy and join us !
Mechanics chosen for this year: Jumping
As mentioned beforehand, the goal of the Jam is to create a game based on a specific simple mechanic within the 5 hour time limit. This year, we have chosen the "Jumping" mechanic. All participants will have to create a game which must feature Jumping as a mechanic, but other mechanics may be included as well if needed (the rating is based solely on the Jumping mechanic, however the judge also rate on level design, meaning that if you add more mechanics which benefit your level design you might be rewarded on that part !).
There is no team limit for this Jam, you may participate alone or with friends, but during your submission you will be required to specify how many developers were working on the submitted game: the size of the team will of course slightly influence the judge's grading. The 5 hours time limit is not on the whole project, but it is per person working on the project, meaning that a solo developer will have 5 hours to work on his/her game, but a team of 3 will have a total of 15 hours to work on their game. Each member of the team will have 5 hours, you cannot give your hours to another team member, that would be cheating !
Please enjoy our Quintuple Jam, the main goal is to learn while having fun and not to stress yourself, so keep your project short and simple, and for the sake of everyone's fun please respect the rules and work a maximum of 5 hours on your game ! Any teams or solo developer who wish to spend more time working on their game may do so, but they will need to submit a version of their game on which they worked for 5 or less hours which will be graded by our judges, and my then also submit another version of their game which have received more work and will be available for the pleasure of the public.
