Welcome to QUILT, a virtual museum of queer joy! We are two graduate students constructing a virtual museum to showcase works of queer joy, resistance, triumph, and perseverance in the face of difficult times. We are looking for all sorts of internet art, from visual arts to games, from video work to zines, from text adventures to music, anything that celebrates resilience through art. While we are particularly looking for internet art that plays with form and presentation in unusual ways, don't let that discourage you if you have something more traditional that you think fits the theme!

The space itself will be an interactive, malleable space, a sort of museum in drag, moving between a more traditional Western museum experience and a more playful queer reimagining thereof. An in-progress prototype of how this might work can be found here. We also hope to adjust each gallery to suit the works it serves to showcase. If you have ideas for how you would like your work displayed or engaged with, we would love to hear them! While we may not be able to include all submissions in our first pass at the museum in the coming months, we hope to expand on it with modular additions along and along. Most interactive submissions will not be able to be directly interactable within the museum due to technical limitations (at least at the outset), but we should be able to feature video installations that link to your work's website.

The game will feature ways for the player to engage artistically in conversation with the work in the space, including tools for photography, drawing, and writing. We want to send the message that the player too can use the arts to find voice for their queer resilience.
