Calling all you Morbid Mothpersons, Gothic Gargoyles, Shocking Shoggoths, and other Queer creatures - it's time to be Gay and do Spoopy stuff!

This may be my first hosted jam, but I don't plan on it being the last, and I'm excited to see the whor-rific and horrifying Queer games y'all come up with this Queertober!

The theme of this jam is: "Queer and Spooky,” whatever that might mean to you! As long as your game follows some simple and easy rules, we can all do the Monster Mash and have a great time:

1. Physical games only! (that's itch's way of distinguishing between video games and TTRPGs, but PDFs and other digital formats are fine as long as its something that could be physically downloaded/printed and played). Whether it’s a standalone TTRPG, a hack, reskin, expansion, or whatever else, let’s sink our claws and fangs into some games! Multiple submissions are allowed and encouraged (if you have time).
It's up to you to decide how to incorporate the theme in your submission... but be sure to use it!

2. Absolutely no AI-generated works! We’re not here to shame robots, but they have no place in writing games or creative spaces!

3. No bigotry! Don't be that guy and make things suck for everyone else. We're all about lifting people up, not putting people down. That being said, it’s okay if your stories are messy, about scary things, or involve bad people - but let’s leave the fascists as the bad guys (as they are).

4. No old projects! If it isn't a freshly dug grave of a game, then this isn't the jam for you. If you’ve massively re-vamped a game or given it some serious updates, I’d count it though. Also, feel free to join us in The TTRPG Collective Discord Server and share your process! We're always hyping each other up, and giving a helping hand so if a brand-new project seems daunting, we’re here and we’d love to help!

5. Your submission must be accessible to everyone during the jam! If your game is free, then you have nothing to worry about. However, if your game is paid, you must either share a download link in the TTRPG Collective Server (#game-jams forum) or add sufficient community copies. Otherwise, other jam participants can't see your work, and that's no fun.

6. Have fun and be Queer! There’s no quiz you have to pass or anything, it’s on the honor system, but please only submit if you identify as LGBTQIA2S+ and don’t be a party pooper!

All submissions have the option to opt-in to the upcoming Queertober Bundle (and are heavily encouraged to do so!). 50% of proceeds from The Queertober Jam Bundle will be donated to the Trans Empowerment Project so they can continue doing their work helping 2TIGE folx. The remaining 50% goes right back to the creators who made the bundle possible. There is also an option to donate your share as well and add to the donation pile, if you're feeling generous.
