This jam is now over. It ran from 2024-10-01 07:00:00 to 2024-11-01 06:59:55.

Are you a gay man, trans man, butch, and/or some other kind of queer person with a tie to masculinity? Do you like making games? Well look no further, this is the game jam for you!

The Queer Masculinity Jam aims to highlight and celebrate queer masculinity in all its forms!

A gay man saving his darling husband from dragons? Nice!

A dating sim where all the romance-ables are men and mascs of all kinds? Amazing!

An experimental and riveting first-person narrative of coming to terms with your man-of-center gender identity? Compelling!

A goofy TTRPG focused on the comradery and romantic tension between men? Great!

Whatever idea you have for your game is a welcome addition to the Queer Masculinity Jam. We welcome video games, TTRPG's, visual novels, music, art, and whatever else you can come up with!

RULES:

  • While the jam centers queer masculinity, you (as developers) do not need to have a masculine gender identity to participate. Your entry, however, must center queer masculinity in some way.
  • Entries MUST be Safe For Work (SFW). For this jam specifically, that means no depictions of sex, kinks, nudity, etc.
  • Horror and gore are allowed with appropriate content warnings.
  • If your entry includes flashing lights, eyestrain, and/or other photosensitivity triggers, please add appropriate content warnings.
  • Try to include alt-text for images where applicable (artwork, TTRPG art, etc) to make entries accessible for screen readers!
  • If you are working on a team, all team members must be credited appropriately in the submission.
  • Try not to give unsolicited feedback. Make sure to ask for feedback if you're looking for it!
  • If giving feedback, please be kind and constructive. If receiving feedback, please try to take it in good faith.
  • Have fun, and don't sweat it!

Submissions open October 1st and close October 31st; you have on full month to submit your entry! You are welcome to begin working on your entry before submissions open, if you'd like.

This jam is not ranked nor judged. We're all just here to have fun!

With that, you should have everything you need to get started. Let's get out there and celebrate some queer masculinity!
