Welcome, or welcome back, to Queer Games Bundle! All queer creators or majority queer teams are welcome to join with games, tabletop games, books, music, assets, etc. Taylor McCue is stepping back this year as she works on projects. Caroline Delbert will be leading the bundle, with help, and with consultation with Taylor. The bundle runs each year during June and into July in celebration of Pride. It will be on sale for $60, or $10+ for the sliding scale version, and we'll campaign for it extensively across social media during that time.
All submissions to the bundle will go through this jam page, as required by itch.io. You also need to submit a Google form as in years past. If you don't also complete and submit this form, you won't be part of the final bundle:
https://forms.gle/fHdjbJfotki8EDRc6
After that, a team moderates all submissions one by one. Your project page must have been fully published, no placeholder pages or passwords, by March 31, 2025.
All funds received are divided transparently among the developers. This year, you'll opt into a funding level. We want to fund everyone, including those who may have less financial need, those who make microgames, and those who have submitted the same work to the bundle multiple times. Here are the levels:
Level 3, full funding: This is the single level from years past, now for people new to the bundle or with new content. Projects older than five years aren't eligible. People submitting all the same content again, a proof of concept demo, or people submitting microgames or one-page games, should not choose this level. Alpha builds, longer ashcan games, and longer demos are eligible. As an example only to show the math, this user may earn $300.
Level 2, ⅔ (two thirds) funding: This is one step down, letting users opt in based on their financial situation and what they're submitting. Projects older than five years aren't eligible. People submitting demos, multiple microgames, or multiple one-page games may choose this level. People submitting the same content for a third time should not choose this level. As an example only to show the math, this user may earn $200.
Level 1, ⅓ (one third) funding: This is the basic funding level. Everyone is eligible for this level. As an example only to show the math, this user may earn $100.
If you have questions about your own specific level, you can email us at queergamesbundle@gmail.com. No question is too small. We want everyone to get paid. Funding levels are not a punishment -- they're a way for us to pay more people to keep making queer art in a time where survival for some may hinge on this money. Any general questions or concerns, you can post in the "Community" forum section of this page.
