Quake is such a well known, first person shooter classic. But what if we flipped things on its head? Using my Automap Quake mod, I intend to bring a new perspective on the Quake experience! The basic premise is that it flips the entire game into a 2D top-down view with reworked controls, giving authentic top-down shooter gameplay in existing Quake maps.

INFORMATION

The jam will be using Copper 1.17 as the base, for several quality-of-life features and mapping enhancements. So if you start before the devkit is released, use Copper!

Due to Quake engine limitations, the only viable sourceport for this jam is FTEQW. There is more information in the installation readme for the jam devkit.

RULES

  • Your level must include an automap_controller entity
  • Your level must end with a trigger_changelevel that takes the player back to the map "start"
  • Your level must be completable, no infinite hordes

THEME

There are no theme rules! Use whatever WADs and assets you want, as long as you have proper clearance to use them.

After the jam is over, I will repackage all of the maps into a single Quake mod to make it easy to access all of the entries.
