QSU Game Jam 2024 is a global non-profit organization created by a group of passionate students. Our intention is to provide a platform through which more people can explore, learn, and enjoy the fun of game creation. We firmly believe that everyone has the potential to shine in the field of game development.
This competition will officially begin on July 20, 2024, and will end on August 3, 2024. The primary participants are university and high school students. Whether you are new to game development or an experienced hand, you are welcome to participate. The main objective of the competition is to improve skills through two weeks of intensive creation, and to expand influence through promotion in the third week.
As a participant:
- Create a game that fits the theme, captivating players or showcasing your game's highlights within five minutes.
- Develop a homepage and introductory video to quickly inform potential players about your game.
- Create an account to promote your game, post videos on platforms like YouTube or Bilibili, and build a following.
- Document your creation process and references to aid your growth and that of other learners.
- Maintain a positive mindset and regular schedule for enduring success.
- Actively engage in activities to foster personal growth.
- Plan team operations early; platform management requires preparation.
- Overall Awards: Three games will receive the Summer Game Jam Overall Award based on competition results, judges' and special guests' preferences, with a chance for Steam publication support by the organizers.
- Nomination Awards: Before the start, partial nomination awards will be announced publicly. During evaluation, additional awards and rewards will be granted based on standout features and feedback from judges and special guests.
- Completion Awards: Teams that follow the rules and successfully complete challenges will receive a Completion Award.
- All awards will be certified by the awarding authority; strive for maximum recognition!
- Prohibited: Discrimination, war, and political elements; otherwise, disqualification may occur.
- Avoid unauthorized content or generated AI to prevent copyright risks.
- Do not defame or maliciously disrupt others' projects, as this may lead to disqualification.
- Plagiarism is discouraged; innovative thinking is key in game creation.
- Templates and references must be disclosed to ensure fair competition.
- Do not attack or harass competition staff; this may result in disqualification.
Avoid attempts to sabotage the competition or harm others. Refer to and comply with rules similar to those in Game Jams to prevent such behavior. Final interpretations lie with QSU-GJ organizers.
