PROTOSHI – R 6,000 Prize money for South African Residents (or passport holders)
4 weeks, 4 prototypes, 2 winners. #PROTOSHI is a competition to promote the rapid development of prototype ideas using various different styles of gameplay. Starting on the 8th of March, Participants will be challenged to produce a full prototype each week and submit their entries to the http://www.makegamessa.com forum.
Submissions will then be judged in two categories (BEGINNER and ADVANCED) and one winner will be selected for each category.
- The BEGINNER category has a cash prize of R 2,000 for South African Residents (or passport holders)
- The ADVANCED category has a cash prize of R 4,000 for South African Residents (or passport holders)
THEMES and CAMERAS
The available THEMES and a specific CAMERA type will be revealed each Sunday night at 9:00 pm. The first Theme and Camera reveal is on Sunday the 8th of March 2020
The details will be posted on the http://www.makegamessa.com forum. You then have a week to make a game and submit it. (See Submissions : When and How)
NOTE:
You do not have to submit a game for each of the 4 weeks… You may choose how many of the 4 weeks you wish to participate.
Only South African residents (or passport holders) are eligible to compete for the prize money. Entry to the Competition is free. There is no participation fee.
CHOOSING A CATEGORY
To compete as ADVANCED, you must mark your entry as ADVANCED. (see Submission instructions when you submit your game)
To compete as BEGINNER, you must mark your entry as BEGINNER.
NOTE: To prevent participants from “gaming” the system, we will only allow participants to compete in one category. In other words… if any one of your solo submissions are marked as ADVANCED then all your other solo submissions will be considered ADVANCED as well. Also, if any of your solo submissions are marked as ADVANCED, then any team submissions you were a part of will be considered ADVANCED as well.
WINNER ANOUNCEMENT
We are aiming to announce the winners on the 14th of April. However this date may be extended if the volume of entries exceed expectation. The winning entries will be announced at the monthly http://www.makegamessa.com meetup in May. The results will also be posted on the Make Games SA forum and the winners will be contacted via direct messaging on the forum website.
