Pride Game Jam HKI -- is a four day event that celebrates LGBTQ+ people by creating a safe space for expressing one's gender, sexual and romantic experience through art, music and of course games!
The event is part of Helsinki Pride Week 2022, and is organized by Finnish Game Jam ry in partnership with Helsinki Pride ry.
This year we start by having a workshop day on the June 30 and by jamming all weekend July 1 - July 3 of 2022! The event aims to educate on LGBTQ+ experiences, and help budding game devs to learn key skills in teamwork, design, and familiarize with relevant software! -- Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level and background!
The jam is hosted in hybrid mode, with the physical site being at Skunkworks office, Helsinki, and the online base being Discord and the Finnish Game Jam ry Twitch.
Yes, we will have a theme! Although the core theme of the event is LGBTQ+ experiences, we'll have a special theme to make the games of this third Pride Game Jam HKI unique from those in years to come! The theme for the jam will be revealed by 18:00 on Friday during the opening ceremony stream and added here.
We have a Discord server to communicate on during the jam! Discord invites have been sent to jammers who signed up through Eventbrite.
All Times in Eastern European Summer Time (EEST, UTC+3). The streams will happen on Finnish Game Jam twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/finnishgamejam

The Pride Game Jam #3 is not a competition, but we invite you to submit your game through itch.io at the end of the event so that fellow jammers can try your game!
As the main submission for our ending ceremony, we want you to make a short video (60 seconds) - of gameplay, your development process or a short presentation of your game - for the ending ceremony of the jam and eligibility for the Finnish Game Jam Awards.
You are free to choose the license that you release your game with, but it has to allow us, Finnish Game Jam, to showcase, share, distribute and use the playable versions of the jam games, their screenshots, and videos, freely. Please note that the game needs to adhere to the event's code of conduct. Please also note, that the video needs to be SFW due to Twitch content guidelines, even if your submission is not.
Submit your game to our itch.io jam page as either free or pay-what-you-want. We are not asking you to publish the source code of your works.
If you make something other than a game during the jam, we hope you’ll share that with us as well! Itch.io works for any kind of downloadable, be it music, a PDF of a board game, or a short description of a LARP scenario. If you make a physical game, you’re free to get creative with documenting it.
The upload deadline for the jam game is 15:00 Sunday, but please start submissions already at 14:00. It is fairly simple to do, just: upload it by making a game project on your account, and then submit that project to the Pride Jam.
