About
Presented by the Puerto Rico Game Devs Discord Community.
Wepa! Join other boricuas from around the globe and make a video game, over the weekend of April 12 - 14! The theme revealed at the beginning of the jam.
This year's theme: THE UNKNOWN.
The Rules
The Puerto Rico Online Game Jam is an event open to anyone who wants to create their own video game, regardless of their skill set and experience level. We want to make sure that everyone can have fun without problems. As such, we devised a series of rules for all participants to follow.
- Participant registration will be open until 7:00 PM EDT, on April 12. All those who wish to participate must register. We won't admit extra participants during the game jam.
- Teams of up to three (3) people allowed. Teams must designate a leader. Participating solo is also perfectly acceptable.
- The theme will be announced at 7:00 PM EDT. As soon as the theme shows up, you can start making the game.
- Make sure that the game sticks to the jam's theme. We understand and accept that interpretations of the theme will vary.
- No previous game projects allowed. Submissions must originate specifically from this event.
- Your submission must include at least the following: game source code (please make sure that all assets in the source are legally distributable), game executable, game title and pitch, screenshot(s) or screen capture, list of team members' Discord IDs, and indicate team leader. See Submission Guidelines for the full details.
- Submission period ends at 7:00 PM EDT, on April 14. No entries will be accepted beyond that point.
- No forms of hate speech or harassment will be tolerated, including in the content of your jam entry. We want to keep a professional and friendly atmosphere throughout the event. The jam organizers will find out if something's going on, believe it.
As a result of breaking any of these rules, your entry won't be valid and could be removed from the entry listing.
PLEASE NOTE: All official communications, including theme announcement, will happen through our Discord server, where our community lives. It is highly encouraged that you join and remain connected throughout the event. A special channel for the event will be created and participants will be notified when the jam begins, so stay tuned.
