Potions & Pixels Game Jam

This is a casual game jam for the Potions & Pixels community in Charlotte. The goal is simple: make a game, try something weird, and share it with the community.

The jam is inspired by the miziziziz format. Everyone starts with the same asset pack and builds whatever they want from it. People tend to interpret the assets in completely different ways, which is part of the fun.

The Idea

Everyone will get the same set of assets. Your job is to build a game where those assets are part of the core gameplay.

You can remix them, modify them, combine them, or reinterpret them however you want. The only important part is that the provided assets are more than just decoration.

What You Can Make

Any genre is allowed. Platformer, puzzle, horror, strategy, story game, experimental thing that barely qualifies as a genre — it all counts.

The point of the jam is to see how many completely different games people can build starting from the same assets.

Rules

• The provided assets must be used as a primary gameplay element
• You can make a game in any genre
• You are free to modify or remix the provided assets
• External VFX, SFX, and icons are allowed if you have permission to use them
• You can use any engine or framework

Submissions

Submit your game with an itch.io project page that includes:

• a playable browser build
• a short description of the game

Screenshots or cover art are recommended but not required.

The browser build is important so people who can't make it to the event can still try the games.

Community

Potions & Pixels is about bringing people together around games. This jam is meant to be relaxed and welcoming. Whether you build something polished, chaotic, funny, or half-broken, the point is to make something and share it.
