Welcome to the biggest PowerPoint game event of 2024!

It's a one-month PowerPoint game development marathon starting on Friday, May 24th.

Main goal of the jam: To promote the development of video games created in 'Microsoft PowerPoint' and to give visibility to developers who use this program.

The PowerPoint Game Jam - 2024 is an event presented and organized by Litygames / PPT Games.

'Litygames' is an indie PowerPoint game developer with over 12 years of experience. Recognized for creating Plumy Adventure, the first PowerPoint game that utilizes keyboard controls for gameplay, among other titles.

  1. First, make sure you have an itch.io account.

  2. Hit the 'Join the Jam' button! No need to submit anything after pressing it. Click even if you're unsure about participating.

  3. When the jam starts, to submit your game, click the top right tab and 'upload a new project' to itch.io.

  4. Click the 'submit your project' button, select your project, fill out a short survey, hit 'submit', and you're done.

Read the rules to know what is allowed and what is not! If something is not clear, don't forget to ask in the jam community.

If you don't have Microsoft PowerPoint on your PC, try these alternatives: PowerPoint Online  or  Google Slides .

("Fácil a primera vista")

IMPORTANT: The theme is optional; you're not required to follow it. However, if you aim to win in the 'More Original' category, using the jam theme will increase your chances of winning.

  • Develop a point-and-click game inspired by Visual Novels, Mazes, Escape Rooms, Puzzles, among other.
  • Utilize all PowerPoint features: hyperlinks, mouse over detection, animations, triggers, transitions, and the option to insert images, gifs, videos, etc.
  • Avoid making your game too large, considering it's just a jam.
  • Base your game structure on current game designs, including tutorial introduction, level design, narrative integration, etc.
  • Remember the importance of music and sound in your game. Ensure they sync perfectly and match the atmosphere.
  • I'm a proponent of 'less is more' so I recommend applying this principle to your game description.
  • If you're new to game development using PowerPoint, I recommend checking out my YouTube tutorials.

It's allowed to start before the jam begins.

The game must be developed by a single person.

Your game can be of any genre (adventure, horror, etc.).

Your game can be a Beta Version , a Demo , or a Full Version.

Your game must include a clear description for others to understand.

The use of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) is allowed in your game.

All submissions must be a PowerPoint file (PPTX, PPTM, PPSX, or PPSM).

You can use any asset respecting the creator's terms. Remember to credit assets if requested by the creator.

NSFW content should have clear warnings at the start of the game and in its description.

Paid games are not allowed, only free games.

Games for adults over 18 years of age are not allowed.

No fan games allowed

Copies of other games are not allowed

Any game that does not follow the rules will be removed from the jam without notice.

Once the Jam concludes, there will be a 5-day judging period. Your game can win in one of these categories:

  • Overall/Fun - The game that offers the most fun and satisfying experience for players in all aspects.
  • More Original - The most innovative and distinctive game, highlighting its creativity and originality.
  • Best Story - The game with the most engaging narrative, immersing players in an unforgettable experience.
  • Better Graphics - The game with the highest artistic quality and exceptional visual design.

If you win in any of these categories, your PowerPoint game will be featured in a video on my YouTube channel , providing visibility for both you and your game.

*By participating in this Jam, you agree to have your game included in my video.
