Welcome to the [hopefully] first of many POSTAL Jams, where you can challenge yourself to make your very own POSTAL game.

This will be the Second round of the POSTAL Jam. You guys can do what ever you want, as long as you follow the rules.

These are the dates of both events:
• Round 1 - November (1st - 30th): Create and submit POSTAL related games with a specific yearly theme. (DONE)
• Round 2 - December (1st - 30th): Create and submit POSTAL related games with no specific theme, free for all. (YOU ARE HERE).

You can have a team of any size to help you. All games are required to be presented on itch.io with a trailer of 3-5 minutes. Comments need to be enabled and NSFW content is not permitted.

Voting and moderation is done by a few handpicked, trustworthy people. It will take place at the end of each category/month (so try to submit your project during or before the 29th). The voting is done within a 24 hour limit and will be done separately for each round.

After the 2nd of January of each year, we have an undisclosed day for a podcast episode where we do a presentation of the top 3 for each category (5 mins max per trailer, so it should be fine). This presentation will take place on the second half of the podcast. During this time, we will be making the vote results public for both categories, so do not forget to tune in and check this page.

You can watch the podcast using this LINK.

This is the first attempt at a POSTAL Jam. If we have enough participants, we will certainly continue hosting more of these events in the future and improve them based on your feedback.

There are rules that you need to follow in order to participate:

  1. Projects shouldn't be mods of existing games. They should be made entirely from scratch.
  2. Any assets that you use must either be custom or legally obtained (if not created by you, those need to be properly credited in-game).

  3. Participants need to specify what tools and software they are using in their projects.

  4. There's no limit of participants in a team, you can have as many people as you want, provided everyone is properly credited.

  5. VAs or music must be credited whether they are made from scratch, a remix or taken from another source.

  6. AI voice acting using real people's voices is NOT PERMITTED.

  7. AI for textures can be used, as long as the software is credited and mentioned.

  8. Entries must not contain malicious content (harmful towards specific groups, illegal content, etc).

  9. Comments must be turned on. That way, if an entry has not followed the rules, there will be someone who can point that up for a quick revision.

  10. All projects need to be 100% free, commercial usage is not allowed for the POSTAL IP without permission.

  11. Each project must include a showcase trailer. Your game jam trailer is going to be the first thing people see about your entry, so it needs to show off everything you can in the 3 - 5 minutes.

  12. All entries must be in english.

  13. Any lack of basic decorum from the participants can lead to the exclusion of the project from voting  (example: disrespecting other participants, audiences & viewers).
  14. Any projects done for the previous round can be resubmitted for round 2, provided the theme is completely different
  15. Any entry that doesn't follow at least one rule mentioned above will be excluded from judges' vote.
