ABOUT
"Dialogue of Civilizations: Poland in Pixels" is a collaborative project between Northeastern University and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, patroned by 11 bit studios. Over a span of four weeks, four teams comprising mixed student groups develop video games that explore Polish identity and culture. These games are then showcased at Gamescom 2024. The project aims to simulate a real-world studio experience for students through an extensive, moderated, and supervised game jam, providing an optimal education method in game development and design. Under the guidance of industry professionals, students gain valuable insights and skills, preparing them to work effectively in the video game industry.

ORGANISERS
The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology was established in 1994 on the basis of an agreement between the governments of the Republic of Poland and Japan. High quality education of specialists able to work creatively and with commitment in the practical areas of computer technology applications important for the development of Poland has been and remains a priority for the further development of the University.

11 bit studios, headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, is a distinguished video game developer and publisher founded in 2010 by former members of CD Projekt and Metropolis Software. The studio has garnered international acclaim for its innovative and socially impactful games, most notably Anomaly: Warzone Earth, This War of Mine, and Frostpunk. Known for blending engaging gameplay with thought-provoking themes, 11 bit studios focuses on creating experiences that challenge players to reflect on complex moral and societal issues. The company's commitment to quality and storytelling has established it as a significant player in the global gaming industry
