What is the PNW Party Game Jam?

This jam is about making a competitive party mini-games like in Mario Party where jammers are submitting the mini-games that will be packaged together as one game. See this as an example mini-games:

or

or

Submission starts: May 23

Submission ends: June 23

Short time after submission ending: We play the game together!

Location: Remote / Hybrid - optional

Mostly remote but if teams wants to meet physically they are open to it.

If a physical location can be secured, it would be soon after the end of the jam so we can play the game together!

Rules:

The mini game must be a head 2 head local simultaneous 1v1 mini-game lasting approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute.

For ease of logistics, the game is limited to keyboard controls. ie Player one control is WASD + Left Alt + Space bar & Player two control is Arrow keys + Enter + Ctrl. Do not modify the input map included in the template project. Do not attempt to use the "ui_cancel" input map as it will be reserved to force exit out of minigames.

Mini-games must be made in Godot engine 4.4.1-stable.

You cannot include add-ons in your submission, due to the potential for conflicts between entries. If you feel strongly about including a specific addon, please reach out to the judges at least 5 days before the start of the game jam. On an exception basis, some addons may be committed into the template repository for use by any entry.

All assets/code used must be either created during the jam or you have legal right to use the them. Ensure Mac and Windows compatibility with your minigame as this will be compiled as a desktop client.

Title screen required leading up to mini-gameplay.

Title screen has name of the game, credits, quick directions of how to play the game and player confirmation

Example:

Have a clear Winner screen overlay at the end of gameplay that will use Global.playerWins() function and pass in the winning player #, which will proceed back to the menu scene on player input. You can have a link to your entry's itch page for people to comment on.

Must have a way to exit out of game via 'ESC' key.

Multiple entries is allowed.
