Welcome to the first Playpass Game Jam! 

Playpass is a new, one-stop platform where you can create, launch and monetize web games your community will love. By providing features like game templates, hosting, storage, analytics, payments and more, Playpass can help you get more out of any free-time spent making games.

We just launched our beta of Playpass. We want to hear from game makers of all kinds, and so we’ll be hosting regular game jams, with prizes, to get feedback from all of you. You can join our Discord to get started with the free tooling and hang out with your fellow game jammers.

Jam Update (May 2nd)

10 days ago, we launched our first Game Jam with Playpass., We know many of you just found us, and we are excited to see what we can build together as our community grows. Here’s an update on where we are with our first Game Jam:

So far, we’ve received 2 submissions during the official timeline of the Game Jam. We know making time for Game Jams and trying out new tools can be tough, so we’re excited to announce that both submissions will receive our top prize - a $300 Amazon gift card. 

Given so many of you just joined though, we are extending the jam for another 2 weeks, until 6PM PT on May 16th, so please keep the submissions coming!

Voting: May 16th Noon ~ May 20th Midnight Pacific Time

* 1st place has been given to the 2 submissions we received in the initial submissions time frame. Thank you for the submissions!

* After voting has ended, we'll reach out to the winners and ask for an email address to send the gift cards to. In the case that the winner lives in a country where such gift cards are not available, we'll try our best to work with them to provide a prize of equal value.

Rules

1. This game jam is connected to the Playpass platform, which means you have to join our Discord and create a Playpass account to get access to the tooling. Submitted games must use the Playpass platform.
2. Keep it cool. Please, no offensive, illegal, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate content. 
3. Submissions may be removed at the sole discretion of the organizers.
4. Your work must be new and original. 
5. All submissions must have a game URL, ready to play in a standard web browser.
6. The submission must follow the theme, and use the game template that we provide.
7. Void where prohibited. The game jam is not open to any jurisdiction where the contest would be prohibited or restricted by law. 
8. You’re responsible for any taxes applicable to or resulting from the award of the prize.  
9. All decisions are final. California laws will apply to any disputes for this game jam, and will be litigated in the Northern District of California.  
10. You agree that we can’t take on any liability whatsoever, and you waive all claims arising from or related to the game jam or use of the prize.

FAQ

• Who is the organizer? - We are Playco, an instant gaming company where our mission has been to bring people closer together through games - we recently hit 500 million players worldwide and our player base continues to grow every day. Now, our goal is to empower creators to reach the same level of success we have!
• Can I submit more than one game? - Yes, but we would prefer one submission per person. If multiple submissions are voted into the top 3, only your top submission will be awarded a prize, and the next submission(s) in line will be bumped up.
• Can I submit a game I already made? - No. Please only submit new projects made within the time frame.
• What framework can I use? - Anything, as long as you use the Playpass tooling. Games that don’t use at least some feature from the Playpass tools will not be allowed to move onto the voting phase.
• Do I have to follow the theme? - Yes, but please be creative with it! We won't be super strict.
• Do I have to use the game template? - Yes, but you can change it to fit your needs (i.e. hack away!). It should help you get your game up and running faster.
• Can I submit after the due date? - Yes. Just reach out to awky-feels and the Playpass team on the Discord server and we'll get you a submission URL.
• Do I need to submit the game to Itch.io? - You only need to submit a URL to your game on the submissions page. There is no need to upload your game to itch.io.
