Welcome to the first Platformer Jam! (presented by me :D)

The "PLATFORMER JAM" is a beginner friendly game jam, where you can only make platformers! Also, remember that we are giving extra points to the platformers with awesome innovations!

Sky Islands! Use this however you'd like! you could make the world a Sky Island, or... Have the player one??

Boxes! Use this however you would like. Remember, the special object is optional.

• No NSFW content. This is a family friendly Jam! Any games with inappropriate content will automatically be disqualified!
• The game has to be for the Jam. You can't make a game and slap it to multiple Game Jams.
• No AI. You can use AI to help you code, but the idea, assets, and all of the scripts cannot be AI generated.
• No stealing other work! Don't steal other people's work for your game.
• Proper credit. Credit everybody that helped with the art, music, coding, and play testers.
• Teams can only be up to 4. You can work solo, or you can be in a team up to 4. (Play testers not included but can still be credited.)
• Remakes of games allowed. You can remake games like Mario and Sonic, but if it's a remake of one of your games, you HAVE to remake everything.
• NO EXTERNAL WEBSITE DOWNLOADS!!! Don't you dare make me have to download your game on external websites!! You need to make it downloadable/playable from Itch.io.
• Can't submit more than one game. You can't submit one than more game, that gets you (and all of your games) disqualified.

You can use any programming language you want! Here's some engines you could start with, "Unity" "Unreal Engine" "Python", anyone you want!

Also, sadly there isn't a Discord chat for the Jam, but maybe in a future one we may add it!

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place get all 3 games get mashed up into the ultimate platformer! (And credit in one of my upcoming games!) :D
