The goal is not just to follow the theme, but to transform it into an engaging gameplay experience.


Welcome to the Pixel Glitch Game Jam, a creative challenge where ideas are pushed under pressure and gameplay takes center stage.

This jam is designed to give participants the chance to learn, experiment, and build something original within a limited time. Whether you are joining as a beginner or an experienced developer, this is your space to create, explore, and compete.


Overview

This is a hybrid event that combines an offline workshop with a 7-day online game jam.

  • Game Jam (Online): 12th to 19th April

Timeline

Phase 1: Offline Workshop

Dates: 10th & 11th April

This 2-day workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals of game development, design thinking, and practical workflows. Sessions will be conducted by invited speakers and mentors from the industry.

Phase 2: Online Game Jam

Dates: 12th to 19th April

Participants will create and submit their games during this period on Itch.io.


Rules

  • You may participate solo or in a team of up to 3 members.
  • Your game must follow the announced theme.
  • Any game engine is allowed.
  • Pre-made assets are allowed only if they are properly credited.
  • The core gameplay, idea, and submission must be created for this jam.
  • Games must be submitted before the deadline.
  • Respectful and appropriate content only.

Judging

Entries will be reviewed based on the following:

  • Theme Interpretation — How well the game connects with the theme
  • Creativity — Originality of the idea and mechanics
  • Gameplay — Fun, clarity, and engagement
  • Polish — Presentation, audio, visuals, and overall finish

Industry Jury

  • Kartheek Raj — Mono Tusk Studio (Judge)

Rewards

  • Top 3 teams will receive free passes to IGDC (India Game Developer Conference).
  • Winning teams will also receive Steam Credits.
  • Selected entries will be highlighted through official event communications.
