Bring your ghosts and goblins, mages and magics and join us in the inaugural Phantasia Jam.

Running August 1st to October 31st Phantasia Jam is a three month jam focused on fantasy settings.

Fire up your cauldrons for a Halloween completion and create a whole new world filled with the magical and unimaginable.

Your game can contain any other themes, romance options etc. but it must be fantasy at its core.

What constitutes fantasy?

Not constrained by or set in real life reality.

“Fantasy is a genre of speculative fiction involving magical elements, typically set in a fictional universe and sometimes inspired by mythology and folklore.”

For the purposes of this jam we are also including horror under the branch of fantasy, as long as the core lore is rooted in mythology or the supernatural.

Why three months?

Jams can be stressful trying to fit everything into a short frame, we aim to create a more generous timeline without losing that Jam atmosphere of creation on a time limit.

Fantasy is a genre capable of long, deep stories with massive word counts, use your time well and challenge yourself, or allow yourself to rest a little during the jam. We know how busy they always are!!

Rules for PhantasiaJam

Is R18+ / NSFW allowed?

Sensitive topics and NSFW are allowed but must be tagged appropriately. Entries that promote hate speech or bigotry (i.e. transphobia, homophobia, racism etc) are strictly not allowed and will be removed from the jam.

What am I allowed to do and when?

The majority of your project must be completed within the jam months.

Custom Assets created specifically for your jam entry should be created within the time frame of the jam August to October. You may put together teams, brainstorm and create outlines and concept sketches before but game assets, script writing, coding etc should be created / done within the timeframe.

Something to note is the jam runs on AEST, meaning if you're from the USA the jam starts and finishes 14+ hours ahead of you.

Can I participate in other jams with the same entry?

Phantasia Jam falls within the same time frame as other jams, you are free to submit your entries to any jams as long as your game meets that jams specifications and rules.

I already have a project that I never finished, can I submit it?

As long as the majority of work is completed within the three months the jam is active you may bring old projects with you into Phantasia!
