Perfect Draw! is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game inspired by Card Game Anime like Yu-Gi-Oh!Duelmasters, and CardFight! Vanguard. Players take on the role of the protagonists, utilising the power of friendship to overcome evil - one card at a time. The Judge's job, in comparison, is to create create exciting encounters to challenge the players and put their plans in peril.

Across the core book and expansion, we created over 60 premade encounters featuring people of note across "Shuffle City" and beyond. However, since the game released, we've seen some absolutely incredible custom designs made by people in the community, filled with innovative ideas and interesting strategies that create exciting story moments for everyone involved!

To celebrate the creativity we've seen, we're hosting the Perfect Draw! Community Cube, a Game Jam encouraging people to share their most interesting NPC Encounters for others to use while playing Perfect Draw!

The winning encounters will rewarded with an Exclusive Perfect Draw! Playmat compatible with all trading card games.

Submissions start on 28/04/25 and end on 12/05/25, so there's plenty of time to get involved!

It's Time to Duel!

For this Game Jam, you'll need to submit a playable NPC Encounter for Perfect Draw following the guidelines outlined in the book. You can make something special for the event, or just include your favourite design you've used in your home game. With that said, to be submitted to this event your encounter will need:

  • A Name and Description for the person wielding this deck.
  • At least two Lash Out Against Losing options and three Example Card Names.
  • A complete NPC Deck Featuring at least two Establish a Plan to Win-s, three Power Card Moves, and three Simple Card Moves.

Feel free to include more if you think it helps your encounter shine though! Additionally, your encounter cannot:

  • Be more then two pages long.
  • Include any assets or writing created by LLMs or LIMs (Generative AI).
  • Reference any copyrighted characters or illegal content.

You can format your encounter in whatever way you like so long as you fulfill these conditions. Additionally, feel free to integrate your character into the existing Shuffle City setting if you want to; you're allowed to make something up and play with the relationships of the existing characters and factions. With that said, the judging panel won't be taking the visual quality or settings of submissions in mind, and instead will be focusing on how well designed, balanced, and interesting it is as an encounter and tool for Judges to use in their games.

The Judging Panel

The Encounters submitted to this Game Jam will be judged by three groups! Each group will select a winner to crown as a winner and receive a playmat. The judges are:

  • Double Summon Games: The creators of the game, Nora Jean Haynes and Iris Cassandra Saintclaire.
  • Dimension Chasers: The Perfect Draw! Actual Play team hosted by Nel Celestine on Twitch.
  • Community Vote: Submissions will be voted on by the community to find the fan favorite encounter design.

That's right! You'll get the chance to vote on what encounters you like best too! Be sure to come back once submissions are done to check out the encounters and choose the one you like best!

Making an NPC Encounter

The complete rules for creating custom NPC Encounters are included in Chapter Two of the book and the free Creative Commons rules. With that said, if you want some help from the community, you can join our Discord Server here to ask for some help and collaborate with other creative people!

*Please note that while we'll do our best to get the playmat to the winners with no additional expenses, certain regions may be difficult to deliver to - in which case, some shipping costs may be on the winner. In these scenario's, we'll do our best to find solutions that minimize this and work to be transparent to ensure your not getting scammed.
