Calling all innovative programmers and developers! TechCodes is proud to announce Peanut Jam! This event will take place virtually on February 11th, 12th, and 13th!

Peanut Jam is our very own game jam that will allow innovative individuals with any level of programming experience to compete together in creating games for hundreds of dollars worth of prizes! Attendees will be expected to create an original game, or add a twist to an already existing one. Even if you might not have any game development experience, you can work in a team of up to four people and use each other's experiences to guide yourself in building a game!

To sign up for Peanut Jam, please fill out: bit.ly/peanutjam2022 by February 10th, 2021 at 11:59 PM (EST)

You will need to put the email you used to sign up in your submission!

For more information and updates regarding Peanut Jam, please visit our website techcodes.org, follow us on Instagram @techcodeshq, and join our discord server! ALL information pertaining to this game jam will be revealed through Instagram. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us at team@techcodes.org

The Peanut Jam won't have a theme in the same way some other game jams do, instead you can optionally make a game that already exists, but add a twist. This twist could be combining it with another genre, adding or removing a mechanic, or any other twist that you think would be interesting!

Recreating an existing game with a twist is completely optional, and will not affect your score, you are also free to make your own original game.

  • You must start your game after the Jam starts
  • No plagiarism!
  • Do not use old projects you have already made or started
  • At most four people per team
  • You may use 3rd party assets you have the legal right to use, or have previously created (but not full games!)
  • You must include a link to the github (or other place you host code) where all of the source code/building instructions can be found

The games will be rated in four categories: Gameplay, Visuals, Originality, and Ease of Use

At then end of the jam there will be three days for the participants (that's you!) to play and rate as many games as you want that others have submitted. After the rating period is over, the judges will play the top 10 and pick the best overall, and then assign four remaining ones to each of the categories.
