The Brain 4 - Peaceful Garden

Call for Artists

The Brain 4 – Peaceful Garden is a temporary interdisciplinary playful media residence in Berlin for game creators, VR designers, digital artists and interactive storytellers, initiated and funded by the Institut français Deutschland and the Polish Institute Berlin in partnership with A MAZE.

The call is only for French and Polish participants, and international artists working in Germany.

For the centenary of World War I, we are selecting three artists who will be creating together a "Playful and Peaceful Garden" using VR. The aim is to have visitors experience, interact and contribute . The VR installation will be a lively virtual space,  where the garden is a metaphor for life, growth, culture and peace. The artists become the garden planners and the visitors are helping to sustain the beauty of that garden, a place of change and future visions.

The Brain 4 - Peaceful Garden artist in residence is structured as follows:

1. Online Game Jam on the topic Peaceful Garden. Register and upload here your raw idea of a peaceful garden :
https://itch.io/jam/peaceful-garden (could be also a video or a written concept)

2. We will select 3 artists from the submitted works of the jam
3. We will invite these 3 artists to The Brain 4, a 2-week artist in residence taking place on August 1-15, 2018 in Berlin.
4. The final work will be showcased, including a presentation in November 2018 at the Filmtage in Tübingen (http://www.filmtage-tuebingen.de)
