This jam is now over. It ran from 2022-05-01 07:00:00 to 2022-07-01 07:00:00. View results

It began with the forging of the Great Jams.

Three were given to the Writers, who were morally infallible and wisest of all beings...

Seven to the Artists, great miners and craftsmen in Microsoft Paint...

And Nine: Nine Jams were gifted to the race of Moderator, who above all else desire Power.

Yet they were all of them deceived, for another Jam was made...

Here is a month-long Game Jam dedicated to the labour pains and battle scars of fallen Novelists whose cries of agony and glory went unheard or were dismiss'd by those whose tyranny or negligence did dull their ears to genius and courage. Its telos, if fulfilled, shall thus erect a testament to all that Interactive Fiction strives to be, beyond the walls and borders of that orthodoxy whose domain has threaten'd its ascent towards Myth and Legend.

There will be two sections to this competition.

One will be Forbidden Showcase. Games submitted to this section may have been developed prior to this May, yet they must meet at least one of the following criteria:

1. The Entry was banned from a Game Jam.
2. The Publisher was banned from a platform or server for promoting this Entry.
3. The Publisher suffers from a terminal illness and needs to fortify a Legacy.

The other is Unholy June. (Formerly May.) Games submitted to this section must have have been developed during June of this year, 2022.

All Games, in all sections, must accord with these prescriptions:

1. The Entry is a work of INTERACTIVE FICTION, such as:
a. a Visual Novel,
b. a Text-Based Game, or
c. an Adventure Game containing at minimum 1,000 WORDS of DIALOGUE per hour of intended playtime.
2. The Entry abides by itch.io's Terms of Service, however barely and technically.
3. The Entry is an ORIGINAL WORK belonging legally to the Publisher.
4. The Entry is UNIQUE and does not rely excessively upon GENRE CLICHÉS.

Entries will be judged in SEVEN CATEGORIES:

Blood.
Deviance.
Gore.
Puzzles.
Toxicity.
Viscera.
Vulgarity.

Judgement shall be passed during that week which follows May, beginning on the first of June, concluding on the seventh. All Entries shall endure the scorn of Public Scrutiny as well as the austerity of Chosen Judges.
