This jam is now over. It ran from 2021-10-14 05:00:00 to 2021-10-28 05:00:00.

Info

This jam is being hosted by Open Game Studio to celebrate the spookiest time of the year! Spooky Party is a simple multiplayer party game concept that will be developed throughout duration of the Jam. Once the jam has ended, we will work to integrate approved entries into the core game to form the minigames that players will encounter.

Details

All assets must be created for the jam to be considered for core game integration. The project should be less than 750mb to help keep the core game size practical. Submissions must be available as a Github repository for us to clone to help facilitate integration. It should be compatible for up to 4 players conceptually. Multiplayer is not recommended to be functional, as our core game multiplayer implementation will not be able to adapt to those of the submissions. Content must be appropriate for all ages.

Discord

OGS members talk shop and get help on Discord. We have a category for Spooky Party where you can chat and get answers to the many questions you're likely to have as you get set up and build your minigame. It is super strongly recommended that you utilize the OGS Discord to get help throughout the jam. It can be very difficult to utilize even a simple set of enterprise tools as part of a team without a communication layer. This is one of the main benefits of  OGS in general and very useful even if you are only interested in the jam. Server Invite

More about Open Game Studio

Hopefully we've got you curious about OGS! We're an open (duh) group of aspiring game creators of all skill levels and disciplines. Our main goal is to provide a platform where anyone can build professional skills and hone their trade or passion. With this game jam, we wanted to do something simple and fun that provides an on-ramp for future members. We believe that being able to work as a team using a modern and diverse set of tools and technologies is just as important as having a hard skill such as 3d modeling or programming when it comes to game development. We typically use agile processes, scrum or kanban depending on the project. Though we are engine-agnostic in principle, in practice we are too small to support multiple engines internally. Halloween Party is being developed in Unreal Engine 4 (4.27). Discord is our communication platform. Trello is our project management tool. Github is our version control tool.
