Here's a pretty trailer for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition:

This is a modding jam!

Make an RPG adventure using the Neverwinter Nights Aurora Toolset!

This is a slow jam. You have 3 months to write and develop your mod.

First you will need a copy of the game. At the time of writing there is bundle of NWN:EE and NWN Diamond edition at -50% Discount https://www.gog.com/game/neverwinter_nights_enhanced_edition_pack

The Aurora Engine/Toolset is built for Windows, though there are unofficial open source versions available for Mac and Linux.

- join to discuss and share your progress.

Why make a mod for an old game?
You might uncover the secrets of the universe as you create your own little universe! More seriously, it's a hobby. If you like retro games, played Neverwinter Nights back in the day, or are interested in modding, there are worse ways to spend your time than making a mod.

Who will play my mod?

Jam entries will be publically available here on itch.io and linked to the official Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition forums.

Over time you may get a few players. Once your module is finished and submitted, we will have a month of public ratings. We will ask the members of official and unofficial NWN forums to participate in playing and rating the modules.

You could create an adventure spefically for your friends or family to play (you might even have to let them play it on your computer if they don't have the game!). That means you can have all kinds of references and injokes that other players won't get. That's fine, it's a mod.

Restrictions

Your games will be publiclly accessible so please note any content warnings or adult themes in the description so that parents can make informed decisions about what their children can play. Thank you!

It can be any length, use any assets you like. On your game page, please add a download link to any assets that are required to play your module.

Create your own adventure

This is your mod. You can craft a narrative heavy character-driven story, a combat heavy series of encounters or something else. You can make your adventure around the optional theme, or about whatever you like. You can make something that takes just a couple of minutes to play, or a campaign that takes multiple sessions. The size of your project is up to you. It is advisable to keep your project small in scope so as to maximise your chances to finish it.

Where to find resources

There are vast amounts of resources available about the creation of NWN modules. The NWN community refers to players that make modules as "builders". Using this term in your searches may help you find more useful sources of information and tutorials.

Due to the age of these resources there are likely many broken links. If you encounter any broken links or 404 error pages in your seaerch, I suggest copying the link URL into the Wayback Machine to view an earlier version of the site: https://web.archive.org/web/

Examples

Check out the links above to find custom made modules. We don't expect people will make their jam enteries in all of their spare time, which is why we have such a long jam. It should allow you time to build something small, and reasonably well.

You don't need to make a game for everyone! In a previous NWN Mod Jam, a builder recreated the town of Scornubel, in which yourplayed as a Theif-taker on a case to solve local murders. The murder-mystery scenario was inspired by the bulider's D&D character backstory. The builder made the module for their friends in their D&D game to play. The module feature NPC's and some of their friends characters who were important to their characters backstory, showing how these characters initially encountered each other. We look forward to seeing what you build.
